Festival of Change was held on Saturday 22nd August as a full day event from 9am till 5pm.

As well as having workshops going all day long, they also invited along key note speakers to talk about their successes and their paths in life that lead them to where they are today. Speakers included Olympian Kieren Perkins and Ange Anderson from NOVA 106.9.

The beauty of having us involved in such an event is that it shows that after studying and applying yourself to create a career out there, that you can actually have contacts and resources in the industry that can help you create such beautiful products. Products that you would not see in mainstream every day life that you can apply your talents to.

To have the results in a finished product as a designer rug and to display your creativity in the design community.

It really opened a lot of aspiring designers and also designers coming into the industry minds that there is a company out there like us that create a product to whatever design, colour and size they are seeking.

The choices on the design bank fascinated them into what they can pick for a design or create something themselves.

The joy that people got out of creating a rug on our online rug design tool was really rewarding because it was a creation all of their own and they felt really proud and a sense of achievement.

The yarns displayed and used in the process was also a great talking point, especially the Recycled Sari Silk and knotting techniques.

All in all it was a very interactive day and gave the public an opportunity to come into The Rug Establishment's world for a day.
