If you have ever wondered how important colour is, you only need to look at Barbie’s pink or Tiffany’s ‘robin egg’ blue. Pantone, best known for their Colour Matching System and Colour of the Year, have shared a short clip on Tiffany & Co’s iconic blue titled Crazy About Tiffany’s that we’re sure all professional interior designers, enthusiasts and DIYers alike would love to watch.

Colour isn’t just important in marketing and branding, it is essential in interior design and for creating aesthetically pleasing homes and spaces. It influences our emotions, causes reactions and has the ability to associate complex ideas in simple ways. For example, red is universal for stop and is associated with sales while green means go and freshness. Adobe predicts that colours are responsible for at least 62% of our first impressions and is the quickest way to instantly change a room.

The Rug Establishment team love working with clients, interior designers and architects to find the right colour for them. For some it is bright, loud, popping colours, whilst others prefer more subtle, neutral tones. Don’t worry if you can’t find the perfect rug because we can help you custom colour or design an entirely new one to your specifications.
